Get to know us
From the coasts of Indonesia and Southeast Asia to the villages the sea connects inland, communities hold generations of ecological knowledge and living traditions. Yet warming seas, climate change, fragile incomes and fading skills now place their livelihoods, landscapes and way of life under pressure.
We believe heritage is more than something to preserve, and traditions can do more than survive. It is a foundation for enterprise, identity and resilience. When makers can pass on their knowledge and shape their own future, their craft can sustain whole villages and stand the test of time, while those who value it gain a trusted alternative they can choose with confidence.
Segara Initiatives is paving a pathway where commerce works to safeguard seas, traditions and people. Our approach joins provenance, reciprocity and cross-sector innovation to make change viable.
We are here to shape an economy where cultures are treasured, cross-border collaboration is cultivated and caring for the environment is inseparable from shared prosperity.

Our mission
We exist to change how trade works, growing heritage-rooted, community-owned enterprises that nurture skills, cultural relations and the environment.
Our vision
We envision a world where everyone has a fair chance at a good life, where healthy seas, vibrant heritage, thriving communities and dignified livelihoods sustain one another for generations to come.

Our story
Our journey began as an idea in 2020 and took shape in Bali in 2026, with Indonesia, the world’s largest archipelagic nation, as our starting point.
Our name has Javanese and Balinese roots, meaning “sea”. Our full name, Segara Pusaka Berdaya, expresses the spirit of the empowered heritage of the sea.
We draw on more than two decades of combined experience in social innovation, cultural engagement and international cooperation. Our strength lies in diverse backgrounds and curious minds. Today, our team puts that expertise to work where international trade, development and responsible technology meet, driven by a commitment to protecting nature and identity.
